In the past month, I have been to New York, Washington D.C., Philly, New Jersey and boy are my arms tired! The travel can be attributed to my recent work schedule. I have a greater appreciation for the movie “Up in the Air” and for my friends whose road warrior status is platinum. That is why I have not been able to update the blog since March 2. It has been bananas. But I feel fortunate to have been able to go the places I went. Especially NYC and D.C.

When I worked at my other agency directly previous to the one I am at now, I also did a fair amount of travel. One of my trips was to Vienna, Austria. Those who travel for business know it is sometimes hard if not impossible to squeeze in some down or tourism time when you are traveling on the clock. There is just so much to get down in a short time span. But when I went to Vienna, I was fortunate enough to be paired with a client who wanted to fit in some site seeing. We went to castles and cafes and clubs. When that lady told me on day two how much she loved Earth, Wind and Fire, I knew she and I were going to click. And click we did!

After that trip, I decided that even though business travel can be taxing and rote, I would vow to make the best out of each trip, Such was the case with the recent drop into NYC and D.C. I’ve been to these places before but I really explored the city as a tourist once my work was done. From the Empire State Building (uh yes, the Empire State) to U Street in D.C., I adopted the position that I could sleep when I got home. How often do people get this opportunity to see our beautiful country while doing work that they love to do?

With that platform, I look forward to elevating my road warrior status to platinum as well. The skies are truly friendly.
