I recently had the full-circle moment of participating on a panel talking about being a Black, introverted, successful leader with other Black introverts. It was a full circle because I don’t ever remember this type of affirming conversation when I was in high school, college, or even by the time I hit the workforce.
I work in the communications field where extroverts abound and win in my line of work. But I’ve been able to be successful in my own unique way. And now I know it is okay to be quieter and more analytical than my peers. And my participation in the panel was to inspire others who are Black and introverted that it is okay for them as well.
If you missed the live version of the panel, a link to the replay is below. Check it out and let me know your thoughts. The response was so overwhelming, we will be getting the band back together for part deux. Stay tuned!
